Abstract
Nitrogen and phosphorus specifically are needed in abundance in plants due to their unique roles in a large number of processes. Plant nutrient limitations are often a result of inadequate accumulation of nitrogen and phosphorus by plants. This chapter focuses on the effects of nitrogen and phosphorus on crop yields. Discussions on the uptake of both nutrients in plants as well as on the process of symbiotic nitrogen fixation are also given.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
