Coastal Forest Management and Research

Abstract Ecosystem management and research are closely linked. Although research provides the guidelines to govern sensible management, management problems indicate the most urgently needed research. This chapter summarizes the major threats to coastally restricted forests and their attendant management strategies, and poses a series of questions for further research. Information is drawn from chapters in this book as well as from workshops1 at two international symposia.
