Abstract
The Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) has researched, developed, and tested three new devices that improve safety in the work zone: a flashing stop/slow paddle, a portable rumble strip, and an opposing traffic lane divider. The devices were incorporated into the recently revised Part VI of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This article briefly describes each SHRP product and its use.
