Abstract
In Japan, Transportation services are being changed by the progress of Information Technology. In the trucking business, the fleet management system is becoming a tool for the new business chance acquisition from the tool for the efficiency improvement. The fleet management system has become an indispensable tool for the trucking companies that tries to change oneself according to the change in the transportation service market. This paper summarizes the trend of the fleet management system, and introduces a newly developed in-vehicle computer for the fleet management system. The fleet management system is a system that aims at the cost saving of the trucking mainly. However, the fleet management system is not only the tool for cost saving, but also for grasping actualities by data and improving business. The usage to improve the entire business process is important.
