During 1988, 56 strains of Cantharellus cibarius and 4 Strains of C.pallens were.isolated, from.tissues, of fruit > bodies. In 1989, artificial ectomycorrhizae with C.cibarius and Picea abies were formed. The only strain of C.cibarius that formed mycorrhizae with P.abies was isolated from a fruitbody associated to this tree. The Hartig net involved the entire cortex, which implies a complete colonization.
