GROUND TRANSPORTATION IN THE YEARS AHEAD

Abstract

This article looks at the future of ground transportation from the perspective of the early 1960s. Transportation problems of that time and future transportation problems forecast in the years ahead are discussed; the role of mass transportation in future transportation planning and policy is considered; and the need for new concepts in ground transportation is stressed.
