Abstract

The economic consequences of State intervention in various spheres may be far-reaching. This is particularly so as regards the transport sector in the Federal Republic of Germany. Referring to current discussions in the United States on Regulation and Deregulation, the writer shows that the findings in this case are not readily usable when discussing the pros and cons of removing State controls in the European transport markets.
