Abstract

This publication is a compendium of national transportation statistics prepared for those interested in a brief quantitative perspective of transportation. Volume 1 contains selected summaries of statistics, and Volumes 2 and 3 consist of time-series data on an annual basis from 1958-70. The statistics for each mode of transportation were assembled from a wide variety of well-established data sources. The database contains short descriptions of the sources, as well as extensive cross indexes to guide the reader to particular time-series.
