Abstract
Several agencies within the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan area recently completed a detailed multi-jurisdictional ITS Maintenance Plan for an operational test of an advanced traffic management system called the Integrated Corridor Traffic Management (ICTM) Project. This project is currently under implementation and is located within the I-494 transportation corridor in the southwest quadrant of the metropolitan area. The project includes the implementation of advanced technology to demonstrate improved corridor transportation movement through inter-jurisdictional cooperation and coordination, freeway and arterial integration, real-time adaptive traffic control strategies, advanced traffic surveillance, motorist information systems, and incident management.
