Abstract

The aim of this paper is to derive and use a relationship between the mean waiting time E(w) of a vehicle at an intersection and the mean number E(q) of waiting vehicles at the beginning of a red phase. The general relation between E(w) and E(q) can aid in the choice of experimental studies and simulation processes.
