Abstract

A brief description of local (Australian) and regional (south east asia) needs and resources for training, information and development is given. The work of the Australian Road Research Board and the National Association of Australian State Road Authorities is described, with emphasis on the links to regional and international activities. The Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia is described and its achievements and future programme outlined (a).
