Abstract

PRASETYANING DIAH RIZKY LESTARI. Determination of Optimal Schedule for the Childhood Immunization Program. Supervised by PRAPTO TRI SUPRIYO and TONI BAKHTIAR. Children immunization schedule is very intense. This causes additional vaccines are not acceptable by either health-care centers or parents. This has encouraged manufacturers to develop combination of vaccines which is known as combo vaccines. The innovation seems to be permitted into the schedule. This additional aims to decrease the number of injections and therefore decreasing traumatic of injections. Besides it was effective, the use of the combo vaccines is also more efficient with respect to time. In this manuscript, it was compared beetwen the financial of immunization program without using combo vaccines and using combo vaccines. This analysis can be used by parents for choosing the best immunization program for their children. In this manuscript, the optimal schedule was determined using integer linear programming via branch and bound method. A software computer LINGO 8.0 was used to carry out the computations. It results the optimal value as minimum total costs and the schedules of giving vaccines for each immunization that refer to Recommended Immunization Schedule by the Association of Indonesian Pediatrician (IDAI). The schedules of giving vaccines include some kind of vaccines that are used in each immunization program with or without combo vaccines and also the number of injections and visits to healthcare centers every month. From several immunization programs that we got, it can be chosen one of the most optimal immunization program.
