Abstract
This article presents one method of estimating form factor and wake characteristics based on parameters derived from potential flow calculation. Three factors were considered in connection with wake characteristics: (1) bilge vortex center and wake value there; (2) effective wake; and (3) wake peak value on centerline. Further, an application of this method to stern design for the improvement of propulsive performance and propeller exciting force is described.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
