Abstract
The freight car market is still in a period of unpredictability and many carbuilders are playing it safe when it comes to product development. One exception is electropneumatic brake (ECP) development. The article looks at the market that shows ECP systems becoming more common on freight trains. The further advance of ECP technology appears to be on hold, but getting the current systems into use remains a priority.
