Abstract

General data on U/sup 235/ complex fission by 2.5-Mev neutrons do not differ greatly from data for other neutron energies. The fission is asymmetric, the mean ratio of heavy and light fragment tracks is R/sub 1//R/sub h/ = 1.3. The angular distribution of alpha particles in relation to the direction of light fragrnent emission indicates deflection of 90 deg toward the light fragment. The distribution of alpha particies has a wide maximum with R/sub alpha / = 130 mu , corresponding to an energy of 16 Mev. (R.V.J.)
