Abstract

The small-scale fisheries comprising of the traditional \nfisheries and related activities as practised by the \nartisanal fishermen, play a significant role in the Indian \nfisheries. About one million active fishermen employing \nthe indigenous crafts and gears and following the \ntraditional methods of fishing are engaged in the small scale \nfisheries of the marine region.
