Abstract
Structural performance of road pavement can be followed up by means of falling weight deflectometer (fwd) tests, recording the pavement surface deflection in load centre as well as in a point at a certain distance from the centre. The method is non destructive, simple, reliable and of high capacity. By employing the value of the pulse load, the thickness of the upper pavement layer and the measured deflections the layer moduli can be calculated easily. On certain conditions it will be possible to analyse the non-linear elastic properties of subgrade materials in situ. (Author/TRRL)
