Abstract
Radiological protection is fundamental to the regulations for the safe transport of radioactive material. The recommendations of the International Commission for Radiological Protection form the basis of the basic safety standards: transport regulations are reviewed and revised to be consistent with these standards. This paper considers some of the current radiological protection concerns in transport, for example optimisation, radiation protection programmes and designated areas. It also looks ahead to some of the changes that may occur in the future.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
