Abstract

Illustrations are given of the malc genitalia of Drosophlla (Drosophilâ,) belonging to the following species group: bromellae (one species), cardinl (3), guaramunu (4), guarani (2); mesophragmatica (1), and trlpunctata (9).Five species not assigned to groups are also ülustrated.Ali specimens dissected belong to the respcctive type series, with the exception of D. guaraja (represented by the type series of D. pulla) and D. grlseolineata {from a series published upon by Dobzhansky & Pavan, 1943).Lectotypes of 21 species are designated.Ali specimens are in the Museu de Zoologia {MZUSP) collection except for the typcs of some species of the trlpunctata group, in the Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ) .An appendix includes an annotated list of the other drosophilid types in the MZUSP with a simple listing of the types of the repleta group to be discussed elsewhere by C.R. Vilela.
