Abstract
This article discusses the formulation of municipal parking strategies in Garden City, New York, located in Nassau County on Long Island, some 20 miles from New York City. The growth of the city's business district, the adoption of a planning effort to accommodate this growth, and the construction of municipal parking facilities are described. The ways in which the needs of both residents and businesses were satisfied are also outlined.
