Abstract

This paper first analyzed travelers’ traffic mode choice behavior based on the maximum utility theory and advanced the modified Logit model under the condition of information supplying through the Box-Cox transformation of independent variables, the purpose of which is to diminish one disadvantage named IIA character to the minimum. At the end of this paper, the rationality of these two amendments was validated based on travelers’ mode choice behavior in Nanjing city. The fitting result shows that the forecasting precision of the modified Logit model is much higher than that of the Logit model, which reveals that the modification can explain travelers’ behavior characters under the information supplying condition and it is much more applicable.
