Abstract
The concerns of the Committee of Common Market Automobile Constructors (C.C.M.C.) regarding the impact of changing fuel quality on the Automotive Industry's ability to provide vehicles and engines in compliance with both customer and legislative requirements are reviewed. Predictions are made on the potential changes from today's diesel and gasoline fuel characteristics and the resultant effects on engine performance. The need to introduce improved or new fuel performance parameters to enable satisfactory matching of fuels to engines is identified. (A) For the covering abstract see IRRD 860841.
