Abstract

The article poses the question, will seat-belts on school buses save lives, or do they threaten the safety of children? The reduction of the number of fatalities outside the school bus is seen as the problem in need of immediate resolution. The disadvantages of seat belts in school buses are noted such as in the case of evacuation of the bus for reasons of fire or other emergencies. The need is noted for analysis of injury data to ascertain the type of bus activity that causes injury.
