Abstract

Widespread deterioration of bridge decks caused by corrosion of reinforcing steel has been the focus of considerable attention and effort. This study investigated some of the methods and materials currently available for protecting bridge decks from scaling, cracking, spalling, and delaminating from expansive corrosion activity at the reinforcing steel. Laboratory and field methods, material performance comparisons, and evaluation methodologies are presented in this summary. For the covering abstract see ITRD E111699.
