Abstract
The first part of this paper compares the effect of using different wave spectra on the ship motions of heave, pitch and relative bow motion. The second part deals with broader aspects of ship motion predictions. A comparison has been made between computed motions in irregular head seas and model results obtained from irregular wave experiments, together with some full-scale ship measurements. The model and ship results are for a variety of ship forms.
