Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze some of the basic characteristics of the traffic flow on high-class rural roads in Finland. The data was collected in 1990 at four different locations on trunk roads in Southern Finland using a traffic analyzer with double induction loops. Furthermore, some travel time and overtaking studies were done with the licence plate method, using video recording, to get information about longer road sections. The measurements were done in ordinary daytime traffic and in weekend rush hour traffic. A five second headway was used as the platoon criterion. The data was usually analyzed in time intervals of 15 minutes.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
