Tate Modern : the handbook

The first edition of the Modern Handbook was a massive bestseller, introducing its readers to the startling architecture of the brand-new modern art gallery that swiftly became the most visited in the world, as well as the unique, thematic displays of its collection. Since its publication, Tate Modern has established itself as a world player on the art scene, attracting several million visitors each year and staging some phenomenally successful exhibitions. The new edition, published in response to the first dramatic re-organisation of the collection since 2000, gives an opportunity to look back over these achievements and examine the part Tate Modern now plays in British and global cultural life.
