Abstract
This report documents the findings of a project aimed at improving the understanding of the linkages between transportation investments and economic performance. The research evaluated data on the value of the public and private capital stock (structures, equipment, and land) in transportation over time. It developed an improved and updated dataset for capital stock to provide the basis for investigations into the linkages between public and private transportation investments and economic performance. The report will be useful to researchers interested in better understanding the linkages between transportation investments and economic performance. It should also be of interest to policy makers trying to estimate the impacts of transportation investment decisions.
