Abstract
A temporary, variable-height noise barrier has been installed along I-93 in Massachusetts. This paper presents the results of field measurements at various locations behind the barrier and at corresponding locations at an adjacent open site. Effects of traffic density and mix, wind speed and direction, and ground cover are investigated for barriers four, eight, and twelve feet high.
