Abstract

Application simulation is recognized as one of the most important techniques in today's design process. This paper describes three typical examples of specialized simulation techniques applied to ship design: computational fluid dynamics, 3-D sloshing analysis and ventilation of a ballast tank in a D/H VLCC.
