Abstract

The total marine fish production in India during 1981 \nwas estimated at 13,78,457 tonnes as compared to \n12,49,837 tonnes during 1980, showing an increase of \nabout 10%. While West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, \nPondicherry, Kamataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat \nand Lakshadweep recorded higher landings, Orissa and \nKerala accounted lower catches as compared to 1980. \nThe catch in Andhra Pradesh and Andamans remained \nmore or less same.
