Determining priorities at a statewide level

This paper gives a brief history of road inventory, project costing and economic evaluation procedures in Australia and describes how the techniques are used to assist in the planning of roadworks in the state of Victoria. In particular, consideration is given to NIMPAC, the planning model developed by the National Association of Australian State Road Authorities (NAASRA) data bank study team. (A)
