Recycling and strengthening of an old pavement - the Greenmount trial

Abstract

This paper details the aims and formulation of a pavement rehabilitation trial of 5.3 km of the New England Highway at East Greenmount, some 20 km south of Toowoomba. It also describes the evaluation process of the existing pavement and details the purpose built equipment used in the trial to recycle and strengthen the existing pavement by the addition of lime and in places a strengthening granular base layer.
