AGE, ALCOHOL AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, 1981 TO 1991 (KANSAS)

The emphasis of this report is on alcohol-related traffic accidents in Kansas which involve fatalities and injuries. The data are presented in terms of the driver's age for the years 1981 through 1991. The report is divided into three sections. The first section includes alcohol-related fatality accidents, and it is divided into two parts by driver involvement and passenger involvement. Both of these parts are addressed on three levels: all drivers involved, drinking drivers involved, and drinking drivers involved in single-vehicle accidents. The second section includes alcohol-related injury accidents, and it is similarly subdivided. The third section includes other pertinent accident statistics and can be considered a summary of driver involvement in traffic accidents. The data in this report do not include all of the drivers involved in alcohol-related traffic accidents. Data pertaining to drivers under the age of fifteen, driverless vehicle accidents, and accidents in which the age of the driver was unreported have been excluded.
