Abstract
In order to effectively promote the construction and planning of highway network in China and give an impetus to the study of highway network planning, the theory and method system of highway network planning were introduced. Authors systematically looked back the development and actuality of the theory and method of highway network planning. Combined with the construction of highway network planning in China, authors point out that highway network planning exists defect in whole planning term and detail of methodologies, meanwhile, combined with application of modern science, planning method and multi-subject will be the development tendency of theory and method of highway network planning.
