Thinking Philosophically: An Introduction to Philosophy with Readings

Offers an alternative approach to introduction to philosophy which begins by demonstrating what philosophy is and how it arises by focusing on the experiences of students and the ocial and political world in which they live. It identifies the philosophical dimension, i.e., the philosophical questions, problems and issues in the students' world and points out how our solutions to these problems assume a particular philosophical point of view. Alternative perspectives on these issues are presented from the history of philosophy in order to stimulate interest, reflection and re-evaluation of these individual positions and our society.
