Abstract
Improvement of commuter train reliability and reduction of maintenance costs can be expected by changing from time-based maintenance (TBM) to condition-based maintenance (CBM). In this study, in order to achieve CBM by a monitoring system, the authors conducted operation examination using a door test machine that simulates the deterioration and failure of door operating equipment of commuter trains. The authors subsequently performed principal component analysis on the test data. Then, the authors proposed appropriate measurement items and a method of analysis for a monitoring system of door equipment.
