Abstract

The content of this presentation is a description of the permanent national survey of merchandize by highway, one of the most important studies carried out by the Institute of Transportation and Communication Studies (IETC). With the data provided by the survey, the Spanish government is in a position to offer the public systematic and reliable information on the status of the transportation sector. The paper describes both the quantitative and qualitative use of the results of the survey, as well as other results that have not yet been applied but still are of interest.
