Effects of the Existence of Pedestrian Signal at the Signalized Intersection

Abstract
In this paper, the effects of the pedestrian signal at the intersection toward the drivers were evaluated in the winter months. The existence of the signal for pedestrians makes the driver calm, because he or she is able to understand the change of traffic signal for vehicles by checking the change in traffic signal for pedestrians. It is important to decrease their speed early, so as not to be involved in an accident in the slippery road condition. The result shows that the installation of signals for pedestrians is effective at intersections.
