Abstract
The Federal Aviation Administration is using computer simulations to investigate the potential impact of large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 on terminal-area airspace and airport operations, arrival and departure delays and traffic flow rates. This article describes the computer simulations and explains how the simulations have been useful in helping airport officials at Memphis International Airport, San Francisco International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport better understand how their operations may change with the introduction of these large aircraft.
