EFFICACY OF ROADSIDE INSPECTIONS

Abstract

This article discusses a study that was designed to investigate the various causes of large truck accidents and to compare them with the findings of the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) and other similar roadside inspections. This analysis provides conclusions concerning the effectiveness of roadside inspections in identifying and reducing those factors cited as contributing most often to large truck accidents.
