Abstract

Freeway programs launched in the 1950's captured the public's eye, as a massive effort is needed to meet mounting traffic demand. The article emphasizes that interprofessional relationships and the exchanging of views need to be maximized so that highway engineers make increasingly important contributions to comprehensive city planning and city planners in return contribute more substantially to highway planning.
