Abstract

The deficiencies in the quality of the traffic system can be accounted for by the existence of discrepancies between land use, road network, traffic control, traffic volume and composition and behaviour of traffic. This short-term plan is meant to remove these deficiencies by means of an evaluation of the current situation as regards traffic flow and safety as well as its tolerability. Much value is attached to the maintenance of the general level of accessibility. The proposed measures relate mainly to bicycle traffic and public transport. /TRRL/
