Abstract
Momentum continues to build within the FAST-TRAC program, positioning the system as a national model for ITS deployment while also creating a national resource for ITS development. Previous papers have described the experiences, successes and lessons learned while deploying the cornerstone technologies of the Oakland County Michigan operational test. This paper, of interest to all transportation planners and developers, first describes FAST-TRAC accomplishments for the year, then highlights how the system supports the evolving intelligent transportation infrastructure for Metropolitan Detroit.
