Abstract
The magnitude of truck-auto crashes has generated a great deal of interest among local transportation officials to identify solutions which would reduce the frequency of this type of collision. Nationwide, several alternatives have been implemented in an effort to minimize the conflict between trucks and passenger vehicles. This paper presents the results of an evaluation of a truck lane restriction implemented in Broward County, Florida as an attempt to provide statistical analysis regarding the effect on truck-auto accidents.
