Abstract
This paper presents the necessary measures that are required and which should be implemented during the cruising of ships on inland waters and territorial sea of the Republic of Croatia, as well as the manner and conditions of supervision and management of maritime transport. These measures aim to increase the level of safety of navigation of ships as well as to reduce incidents as result of human error or human factors. The most common incidents are collisions, grounding and pollution of the sea and the sea environment and are present in 75% of maritime traffic.
