Abstract
This paper describes how “Transport Accessibility Improvement Law’ ‘has recently been enacted in Japan and many new movements are going on now. Actual status, backgrounds and perspective are described from the point of policy, barrier free improvement and so on. Universal design in the transportation field and participation of many people including elderly and disabled people are emphasized.
