Abstract

Advanced Rural Transportation System (ARTS) projects in Minnesota Washington and Colorado are testbeds for developing technologies that will improve road safety for rural commuters, tourists and commercial vehicle operators. THe categories of ARTS projects include traveler information systems, advanced vehicle safety systems, traffic and emergency management, commercial vehicle operations and public transportation.
