Abstract

The authors describe how to determine groups of road maintenance costs in Croatia for particular types of pavements and facilities, depending on basic influencing factors such as height above sea level, characteristic climatic areas, temperature, rainfall, winter maintenance service, average annual traffic and traffic composition. The calculation of the influence of certain factors on road maintenance costs includes regular maintenance which is technologically divided into current maintenance, traffic safety, winter maintenance and pavement reconstruction. Road maintenance costs are reduced to current kilometre with the use of appropriate correctors for the intensity of the influence of some particular factors. Forecasts of traffic composition and traffic intensity have been performed. See also TRIS 386529, 386530 and 386532. (TRRL)
