Abstract

Two-dimensional small model tests for simulating the geogrid-reinforced retaining wall have been performed to clarify the mobilized confining effects, comparing with the tensile ones in the model retaining wall. The reinforced effects are estimated by the changes of the active earth pressure in the retaining wall without and with geogrid-reinforcement. The characteristics of the resulting confining effect are investigated paying attention to the space of geogrid and the unit length of geogrid, which is prepared by cutting the reinforced material where the whole length is always the same. For the covering abstract see ITRD E125786.
